Every adventure activity uses a different set of muscles. That's why we offer a different fitness program tailored to unique adventure activities. Fit for Trips provides activity-specific strength and endurance training programs based on a proven sports-conditioning model used by professional athletes and trainers. Our goal is to get you in the best shape of your life so that you can get the most out of your adventure travel experience.
Fit for Trips offer adventurers two types of programs: Standard and Custom. Standard Programs are pre-designed workouts that will work in every way for the majority of adventure travelers. Custom Programs are for adventurers who want a more personalized fitness program and for those with prior injuries, time constraints or other special circumstances.
Standard Programs
Our Standard Programs are designed to get you in peak physical condition for your trip using the most advanced, time-effective techniques available. Every one of our fitness programs is expertly crafted by a Fit for Trips Coach and comes with the full support of our staff to guide you every step of the way. Standard Programs are available for hiking, trekking, backpacking, country or city walking, biking (road and mountain) and paddling in three program lengths: 4, 8 and 12 weeks. Custom Programs
Custom programs are the ultimate solution for those who desire a completely customized program to get physically fit for their specific adventure trip itinerary and athletic goals. These programs are most suitable for those adventurers who place the highest priority on improving their fitness and performance while maintaining a balanced life that doesn't sacrifice family or career goals. It will also meet the needs of those with injuries, illness or medical limitations. If your adventure trip includes a multi-sport itinerary that combines multiple activities such as hiking, biking and/or paddling, a Custom Program can be designed to optimally balance the training routine across activities to match your itinerary.
Our custom programs begin with an in-depth initial phone consultation with a Fit for Trips Coach to discuss your trip itinerary, training goals, current fitness level, medical history (including injuries or limitations) and available schedule for training. This information is used to create a personalized program that will work specifically with your lifestyle constraints so that you can achieve maximum performance results.
